Friends of the Family: The Great Burden

posted by Jacob in Alec Owen, Friends of the Family, Rosie O'Donnell, friends of tremendosaur, internet September 30th, 2008

Our good friend Alec Owen (with whom we enjoyed eating ridiculous things) just launched a new internet sketch video group.  They are called Friends of the Family, and my verdict is that they are delightful!

My favorite sketch of theirs is called “The Great Burden,” and is posted below for your viewing pleasure:

So rarely does a minute-long setup pay off this well.

Way to go, Friends of the Family! Welcome to the internet, where you will most certainly create many funny things!

Behind the Scenes of Oops! All Lansburys

posted by Justin in animation, behind the scenes, harry chaskin, oops! all lansburys September 16th, 2008

Angela Lansbury HeadEven though you just saw Oops! All Lansburys pop up on our site a week ago, we’ve been working on it for well over a year!

That’s right, I’ve personally spent hours poring over ‘getting the right creepy clown design’ and wondering ‘just how many Angela Lansbury corpses do we need in that shot?’

Under normal circumstances, you (the internet public), would never get to see the preliminary artwork…but we thought it might be cool to share some of the designs, sketches, and storyboards that our talented friends contributed!

Check it out after the jump!

Tremendosaur’s friend, Heather Campbell, posted an awesome Sarah Palin rap on funny-or-die a few days ago.

Lucky for you, we’re embedding it RIGHT HERE for your personal viewing pleasure. Enjoy it in all its anti-Polar Beary goodness:

Kitten vs. Newborn

posted by Justin in andy & scott, friends of tremendosaur, kitten vs. newborn, politics August 28th, 2008

Kitten vs. Newborn

Sure, Barack Obama’s great and all, but what if the Democratic candidate for 2008 was an adorable kitten? And what if the Republican candidate was a pudgy newborn baby?

Enter Kitten vs. Newborn, a series of shorts our friends Andy & Scott have produced for [adult swim]. It’s super-funny and parodies political ads with a deadpan accuracy.

Follow the political fervor as it happens over at the respective candidates’ sites!

So here’s the scoop: our pal Brad Wergley put together an awesome film, and we think all of the internet should see it, starting with YOU!

If you like the combination of singing, dancing, and time travel: watch it now. If you don’t…watch it anyway!

Mr. Justin goes to Wedding-ton

posted by Justin in friends of tremendosaur, harry chaskin, justin michael, robots, the future, wedding June 10th, 2008

Well people, it’s finally happened: somebody was stupid enough to make me Best Man at a wedding. That somebody happens to be my longtime good friend, David.

In lieu of a speech, Harry Chaskin and I created this video to screen at the reception in front of the bride and groom’s friends, family, and others.

Suffice to say that it was…interestingly received. Watch it for yourself below!
