Lasagna Cat

posted by Tremendosaur in internet, viral January 14th, 2008

Stop what you’re doing. If you enjoy things that are funny, or things that are on the internet, you need to read this.

Double-stop what you’re doing if you like things that are condescendingly asshole-ish to Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield.

Triple-stop if you think Garfield is stupid.

Here at Tremendosaur, we think Jim Davis’ daily Garfield strip is an ongoing parade of mediocrity; one that needs to be stopped. Enter Lasagna Cat, a venture from the LA-based production house Fatal Farms, whose mission statement is: “One man lives with the burden of making the entire world laugh every day… It’s time we showed him just how much we cared.”

Each short is a re-enactment of a Garfield strip, followed by a musical montage/tribute to Jim Davis. My personal favorites are:

Some of them aren’t as good as others, but the batting average is pretty high overall. The attention to detail on these things is out of control, and boy does it deliver! Do yourself a solid, and check them out.

The Number 24 goes global

posted by Jacob in internet, shorts, the number 24, viral, youtube September 29th, 2007

24flags.pngEarlier this month, The Number 24 was featured by YouTube. In the past few weeks we’ve gotten a ton of views from around the world.

I am also proud to announce that The Number 24 has been featured under the YouTube comedy category in NINE other countries.

24globalfeatured.jpgApparently, The Number 24 is a big hit in the UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland and Brazil.

If you look carefully, you can see all of these flags in a frame of the short itself. Seriously. Go take a look!

UPDATE: “The Number 24″ has now been featured by YouTube in Germany, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, Russia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.  That’s EIGHT more countries who put The Number 24 at Number 1!

The Number 24 is #1 on YouTube Comedy!

posted by Dave in internet, shorts, the number 24, viral, youtube September 12th, 2007

Youtube-Tremendosaur

Looks like today’s YouTube categories took a liking to our tremendo-satire! It only took YouTube 6 months to realize how earth-shattering “The Number 24″ was to the genre of trailer parodies. I mean REALLY. If only people remembered what The Number 23 was, so they’d understand what we were making fun of… OH SNAP, DRAMATIC-ROLE-PLAYING JIM CARREY!

Watch it in all of it’s 79,154 hits of glory here. Wait, isn’t 79,154 divided by 666 divided by Pi plus GOD = 24! BUT, OF COURSE! IT ALL MAKES SENSE! Now, I’m going to go murder everyone who stands in my way.

UPDATE: We just broke a 100,000 views! If it reaches half a million, I will personally go and find Joel Schumacher, and tell him to do a sequel.

Jacob’s featured in the Daily Reel!

posted by Dave in shorts, viral September 11th, 2007

Hey, Tremendo-fans! If you’ve been on the “Daily Reel” today then you’ve already seen Jacob’s featured video: “Day Job.”

The film stars your friend and mine Mr. Alec Owen (of Cursed Clown Car, Video Will, Five Second Rule, etc.) as a working stiff who makes his boring job interesting.

Thanks Daily Reel!

We all think it’s pretty awesome, and so, for your viewing pleasure… here’s the goods.

An Open Letter to The Onion

posted by Tremendosaur in shorts, the onion, video will, viral August 3rd, 2007
onionstatshot.jpg

Hey, The Onion,

As avid readers of your very fine publication, we noticed on page two of this week’s Onion the Statshot listed that 20% of what’s getting you down was ‘no views of Video Will on YouTube’.

It just so happens that we, a sketch comedy troupe, have a sketch entitled “Video Will.” It is on YouTube, and has received nearly no views.

Could our video be the very one you are mentioning? If so, this information would enthrall and delight us. If not, it was very nice talking to you.

Sincerely,

Tremendosaur Sketch Comedy

We love The Onion, and it breaks our hearts that they would ever be sad - especially when it’s something we can control.

So, why don’t we all take a moment and go view, rate, and comment on Video Will on YouTube. Don’t do it for us, do it for The Onion.

Check out the nice things they have to say about us here.

Anybody who ends a blog entry with ‘tickled to death by Laurence Fishburne’ is more than okay in my book. So a big thanks to Allison, as well.

See you in the next entry: same blog time, same blog channel!

Hey, guess what!

Our latest sketch, “Video Will” is in the number one spot on the front page of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Funnyordie.com! We think that’s pretty awesome. It might not be on there for very long, but we took a screen capture just to prove it.
